Behavioural and Emotional Support Mentor, Liverpool, Long term contract
We are looking for Behavioural and Emotional Support Mentors to support young people aged 11-16 years with SEMH needs, working closely with students to support them in managing their emotions and work consistently with them to achieve positive outcomes. You will have a passion for working with children, particularly those with Social Emotional and Mental Health (SEMH) needs, to help them individually reach their full potential academically and socially. The school offers a creative curriculum, a very child centred approach designed to meet their individual needs.
A background in education is not essential but you may have experience working with children, ideally those with special educational needs and disabilities including challenging behaviour, Autism, ADHD, Asperger's, and Social Emotional and Mental Health (SEMH).
You will have knowledge of safeguarding young people and a willingness to undertake additional and on-going training and personal development. You will be an excellent team player with a positive and resilient nature who likes to see and get the best out of young people.
