An award-winning Merseyside law firm is currently looking to recruit an experienced Fixed Costs Draftsman to join its close knit team within its Liverpool office.

As part of the Technical Costs Team, you will be reviewing fixed costs files, considering and making offers, negotiating settlement, preparing costs schedules, negotiating costs and preparing applications. This role would suit an experienced Costs Draftsperson who is able to manage their own caseload effectively and who is looking for a new opportunity that will give them exposure to a variety of high value cases.  

Duties to include:

  • Reviewing and negotiating fixed costs 
  • Drafting Costs Schedules, Part 23 Applications and Part 8 Proceedings
  • Formulating written costs arguments to maximise recovery of the firm’s costs
  • Preparing bundles and instructing Counsel to attend costs hearings
  • Liaising with fee earners and management
  • Providing assistance to other team members as and when required
