Reed accountancy have recently began working with a well-established legal firm based in Liverpool who are looking for a Senior Legal Cashier to join the business. The right candidate will possess the below skillset and experience and will be looking to take on a challenging role.

Primary Role

The Senior Legal Cashier will oversee and support the accounts team to ensure the department runs efficiently. This role involves a high level of self-management and initiative.

Key Responsibilities

  • Accurately manage financial transactions and records, ensuring compliance with legal standards.
  • Communicate effectively with team members to ensure smooth departmental operations.
  • Assist with daily departmental tasks.
  • Handle bank reconciliations, VAT returns, and month/year-end procedures.
  • Maintain confidentiality and integrity of financial information.

Experience and Personal Attributes

  • Significant experience in legal cashier work within a firm.
  • Ideally, possess ILFM qualifications.
  • Exhibit a pleasant demeanour when interacting with colleagues, contacts, and clients. Tact and resilience are essential.
  • Effective communicator, both numerate and literate.
  • Personally efficient, well-organized, and proficient with the firm's computer systems.

Essential Training Requirements

  • Strong working knowledge of SARS.
  • Extensive experience with legal accounting systems and Microsoft applications.

This role will require you to manage other people and someone with previous experience in a supervisory aspect would be ideal.
