The Role and School

An exciting opportunity has arisen at a thriving Secondary School in West Derby, Liverpool. We are seeking a passionate and dynamic Mathematics Specialist to join a dedicated team, supporting students across Key Stages 3 and 4. This full-time role starts immediately and will continue throughout the academic year. The successful candidate will be responsible for delivering pre-set Maths lessons, helping students reach their full potential in a supportive and creative learning environment. This Liverpool school is renowned for its strong academic record and vibrant extracurricular offerings, fostering a culture of personal growth, creativity, and leadership.

Key Responsibilities

  • Deliver engaging and effective pre-planned Maths sessions to students aged 11-16 (KS3-KS4).
  • Manage classroom behaviour and support student learning in the absence of the regular teacher.
  • No requirement for lesson planning, marking, or assessment.
  • Maintain flexibility and adaptability to meet school needs.

Requirements

  • A minimum of 5 days’ experience managing groups of children independently in the last 10 years.
  • Strong communication skills with the ability to quickly build rapport with students and staff.
  • A passion for teaching with a calm, authoritative presence.
  • Willingness to undergo an Enhanced DBS check (or be registered on the Update Service).
