Description
The role of Procurement Category Manager will be responsible for:

Category Strategy Development: Develop and implement comprehensive sourcing strategies for food ingredients to meet business goals and optimize costs.

Supplier Management: Establish and maintain strong relationships with suppliers, ensuring continuous improvement in performance, cost, quality, and innovation

Cost Optimization: Identify and execute cost-saving initiatives through negotiations, competitive bidding, and process improvements

Risk Management: Proactively monitor and mitigate risks related to supply continuity and market fluctuations

Sustainability and Compliance: Lead initiatives to ensure food ingredients meet sustainability goals and regulatory requirements

Cross-Functional Collaboration: Work closely with internal teams such as sales, marketing, engineering, and finance to align procurement strategies with overall business objectives

Market Intelligence: Stay informed about market trends, pricing, and innovations in food ingredients to anticipate opportunities and challenges

Profile
Ideally, the successful candidate will have the following background:
* Thorough understanding of procurement processes and frameworks* Previous experience in a Category Manager role or similar* Excellent working understanding of category management, strategic sourcing, supplier development and value chain mapping.* Excellent working knowledge of allocated areas of spend.* Understanding of contract principles and clauses and be able to construct and interpret agreements.* SAP analytics and reporting.* Degree level qualification, ideally business related would be desired but not essential.* Strong working knowledge of Microsoft Office.* Associate or student of CIPS is desirable but not essential.* Willingness to occasionally travel through UK and Overseas.
