Global FMCG brand, looking for a Procurement Category Manager: Raw Materials. The business have several UK operations and internationally too, and requires this role to be based out of the North West.

Description

The role of Procurement Category Manager will be responsible for:

  1. Category Strategy Development: Develop and implement comprehensive sourcing strategies for food ingredients to meet business goals and optimize costs.

  2. Supplier Management: Establish and maintain strong relationships with suppliers, ensuring continuous improvement in performance, cost, quality, and innovation

  3. Cost Optimization: Identify and execute cost-saving initiatives through negotiations, competitive bidding, and process improvements

  4. Risk Management: Proactively monitor and mitigate risks related to supply continuity and market fluctuations

  5. Sustainability and Compliance: Lead initiatives to ensure food ingredients meet sustainability goals and regulatory requirements

  6. Cross-Functional Collaboration: Work closely with internal teams such as sales, marketing, engineering, and finance to align procurement strategies with overall business objectives

  7. Market Intelligence: Stay informed about market trends, pricing, and innovations in food ingredients to anticipate opportunities and challenges

This role is essential for maintaining the balance between cost efficiency, quality, and sustainability in sourcing food ingredients, which is crucial for the success of a global FMCG brand.

Profile

Ideally, the successful candidate will have the following background:

* Thorough understanding of procurement processes and frameworks* Previous experience in a Category Manager role or similar* Excellent working understanding of category management, strategic sourcing, supplier development and value chain mapping.* Excellent working knowledge of allocated areas of spend.* Understanding of contract principles and clauses and be able to construct and interpret agreements.* SAP analytics and reporting.* Degree level qualification, ideally business related would be desired but not essential.* Strong working knowledge of Microsoft Office.* Associate or student of CIPS is desirable but not essential.* Willingness to occasionally travel through UK and Overseas.
