We have a fantastic opportunity for a talented and experienced individual to join us as Assistant Restaurant Manager at the Titanic Hotel Liverpool.
Titanic Hotel, Stanley Dock, Liverpool is all about the restoration of one of the citys most historic and iconic buildings. As a World Heritage site, it forms part of the Stanley Dock development overlooking the waters of Stanley Dock. The hotel has 153 stylish and spacious bedrooms, unique event space West Bay, Stanleys Bar and Grill, Rum Bar, Maya Blue Wellness and adjoining the incredible Rum Warehouse.
The Assistant Manager will support the Restaurant Manager in overseeing daily restaurant operations, ensuring exceptional guest service, managing staff, and maintaining a high standard of cleanliness and efficiency. This role is ideal for someone with strong leadership skills, a passion for hospitality, and a keen eye for detail in providing memorable dining experiences.
GENERAL DUTIES
- To consistently provide and maintain the highest standard of guest care and service.
- To ensure that you and all reporting staff maintain a high standard of personal hygiene and grooming at all times.
- To ensure that designated uniforms are worn, well pressed and in a good state or repair.
- To assist your Head of Department in maintaining and updating the departmental Standards of Performance Manual.
- To ensure that you and all reporting staff demonstrate the required Standards of Performance.
- To assist the Head of Department in regularly monitoring staff performance against agreed criteria.
- To have a good knowledge of all hotel facilities and be able to answer guest questions in a quick, polite and helpful manner.
- To handle any guest complaints or problems promptly and to ensure that all resolved/unresolved incidents are reported to your Head of Department.
- To ensure company, hotel and statutory rules, regulations and policies are adhered to at all times.
- To act on your responsibilities detailed in the Health and Safety at Work Act 1974.
- To demonstrate a working knowledge of fire prevention and to ensure that staff follow hotel evacuation procedures when required.
- To be security conscious with respect to guest/staff/hotel property/welfare and to report suspicious circumstances to your Head of Department.
- To report any damage to furniture, fittings and equipment to your Head of Department.
- To ensure the departmental area is maintained in a safe, hygienic and presentable state.
- To communicate positively with staff, colleagues, your Head of Department and Management to ensure effective teamwork and high morale.
- To attend meeting and training sessions/courses that may be beneficial to you and your department.
- To follow procedures set up for energy conservation.
- To assist your Head of Department with the induction of new members of staff.
- To assist your Head of Department in rostering staff effectively.
- To effectively supervise the departmental operation whilst on duty.
- To deputise for your Head of Department in his/her absence.
- To handle staff grievance and disciplinary matters to the agreed hotel standard.
- To carry out any reasonable tasks requested by your Head of Department or Management.
SPECIFIC DUTIES
- To have a complete working knowledge of the Restaurant, the menu, wine list and any special promotions, being able to answer guest queries quickly, knowledgeably and in a discreet manner in line with The Titanic Hotels high standards.
- To carry out staff briefings prior to the service of every meal.
- To supervise all staff ensuring attention to detail in every aspect of their work.
- To prepare staff rotas, timesheets and service administration in the absence of the Restaurant Manager, ensuring adequate coverage to facilitate the elegant service associated with The Titanic Hotel.
- Responsible for all monies, floats and billing procedures, ensuring they are implemented as detailed in the Standards of Performance Manual.
- To maintain all par stock levels as specified in the operations manual, and to adhere to the hotel requisition system.
- Responsible for liasing with guests in the Restaurant, ensuring that they receive the discreet elegant service associated with The Titanic Hotel.
- To maintain all liquor and food service standards in line with the Standards of Performance Manual.
- To have a full knowledge of the Weights and Measures Act and Licensing Laws and to strictly adhere to the provisions set.
- To ensure the safe use, maintenance and storage of equipment and utensils.
- To ensure the safe use and storage of chemicals.
- To carry out any reasonable tasks requested by your Head of Department or Management.
- Assist in overseeing the daily operations of the hotel restaurant to ensure smooth service and high standards of food and beverage quality.
- Monitor restaurant performance, identify areas for improvement, and implement necessary changes to improve efficiency and guest satisfaction.
- Ensure restaurant staff adhere to company policies, food safety standards, and health regulations.
