About the Role:

Tradewind Recruitment is proud to be working with a dedicated and nurturing SEND school in South Liverpool. We are seeking a skilled and compassionate Teaching Assistant to join their team, supporting students with visual impairments and other complex needs.

As a Teaching Assistant in this role, you will:

  • Provide one-to-one and small group support tailored to student's individual learning and personal development needs.
  • Assist with classroom activities, ensuring a safe and inclusive learning environment.
  • Work closely with teachers and therapists to implement tailored education plans.
  • Support students in developing essential life skills and independence.
  • Use Team Teach strategies (or be willing to undertake the training) to promote positive behaviour and ensure the safety of all students and staff.
Requirements:
  • Minimum Level 2 qualification in Supporting Teaching and Learning (or equivalent).
  • Experience working with children with visual impairments and/or complex needs is highly desirable.
  • Team Teach trained or willingness to complete the training (provided by the school or Tradewind Recruitment).
  • Strong communication and interpersonal skills.
  • A caring, patient, and proactive attitude.
  • Enhanced DBS on the update service or willingness to obtain one.
