Youth and Community Worker

Are you passionate about working with young people and making a lasting impact on their lives? An exciting opportunity has arisen for a dedicated Youth and Community Worker to join a thriving youth centre, engaging directly with children and young people who access its services.

In this role, you will play a key part in building strong, trusting relationships with young people, supporting their personal and social development in a safe and inclusive environment. You will take a hands-on approach in planning and delivering engaging youth and play programs, ensuring the provision meets their needs and aspirations.

With the support of a part-time evening staff team and volunteers, you will oversee the development and facilitation of activities that provide meaningful opportunities for young people. Your leadership will help create a space where young people feel valued, empowered, and able to express their voices in shaping the services offered.

As part of your role, you will collaborate with the centre manager and management committee to identify and secure new opportunities for young people, including potential funding sources to expand the work. You will also advocate for their needs, ensuring they receive the support and safeguarding required for their well-being.

Recognising the vital role families play in a young person's life, you will work closely with parents and carers, helping them engage with the centre and access opportunities that benefit their children. Your flexibility will be key, as the role involves evening and occasional weekend work to support the youth club's activities.
