This role offers a rewarding opportunity to make a real impact within the community.THE ROLEAs a Homeless Prevention and Assessment Officer, you will assess and support individuals at risk of homelessness, providing solutions in line with the Housing Act 1996 and the Homelessness Reduction Act 2017.
  • Conduct detailed homelessness assessments and develop personalised housing plans
  • Investigate homelessness status and apply statutory tests for eligibility
  • Make informed decisions on homelessness applications and draft decision letters
  • Manage a caseload of clients and provide tailored housing solutions
  • Work in partnership with landlords, support agencies, and housing providers
  • Identify safeguarding concerns and refer vulnerable clients to appropriate services
  • Maintain accurate case records and comply with GDPR regulations
THE CANDIDATEThe ideal candidate will have previous experience in a similar role, supporting individuals at risk of homelessness and making statutory decisions.
  • Strong knowledge of homelessness legislation, including the Housing Act 1996 and Homelessness Reduction Act 2017
  • Experience managing a complex caseload in a fast-paced environment
  • Skilled in negotiation and advocacy with landlords and housing providers
  • Ability to write clear, legally compliant decision letters
  • Confident in working collaboratively with external partners and internal departments
THE CONTRACT
  • Temporary ongoing
  • The pay range for the role is £20.00  per hour LTD company rate. The PAYE equivalent is   £17.05 per hour, inclusive of holiday.
