At Randstad Education, we are seeking a compassionate and dedicated SEN Teaching Assistant to provide one-on-one support to a pupil with special educational needs in our vibrant primary school in Kirkby. This is a rewarding opportunity for someone who is passionate about making a difference in the life of a child, ensuring they receive the tailored support they need to thrive in their learning environment.

Key Responsibilities:

  • Provide 1:1 support to a student with special educational needs (SEN), both academically and socially.
  • Work closely with the class teacher and SENCo (Special Educational Needs Coordinator) to implement individualised learning plans.
  • Assist with adapting lesson materials and activities to meet the student's specific needs.
  • Promote inclusion, independence, and self-confidence in the student.
  • Monitor and track the student's progress, providing regular feedback to teachers and parents.
  • Support the development of key skills, including communication, social interaction, and self-regulation.
  • Work collaboratively with other professionals, including speech therapists and educational psychologists, as required.

What are we looking for:

  • A relevant qualification (e.g., Level 3 Teaching Assistant, SEN qualifications, or equivalent ideally).
  • Experience working with children with special educational needs, particularly in a one-on-one setting.
  • Strong understanding of SEN and strategies for supporting children with a range of learning needs.
  • Excellent communication skills and a patient, empathetic approach.
  • Ability to work independently and as part of a team.
  • A commitment to supporting the inclusion and well-being of all students.
