About the School

Tradewind Recruitment are working with a SEND Secondary School based in South Liverpool. The school supports students from across the Liverpool City Region who have Complex Learning Difficulties. The school also has specialist ASD status.

Responsibilities:

  • Work with Teachers as part of a professional team to support teaching and learning for SEND pupils.
  • Provide specialist assistance to students who need specific support to overcome barriers to learning. This can include those with moderate, severe, profound and multiple learning difficulties and behavioural, social, communication, sensory or physical disabilities.
  • Implement planned learning activities as agreed with the class teacher.
  • Work with students on their personalised therapy or care programmes.
  • Attend to pupils personal care need including toileting, hygiene, dressing and eating.
  • Be willing to work across all age ranges within the school.

Requirements:

  • Hold a Level 2 Teaching Assistant qualification or equivalent. Please note this is an essential requirement.
  • High standard of Literacy and Numeracy.
  • Experience working in an SEND setting would be beneficial.
  • Have an understanding of Educational Health Care Plans.
  • Be willing to attend training to improve your skills.
  • Have an enhanced DBS on the Update Service or be willing to apply for one.
