Are you a Learning Support Assistant with a good knowledge of Maths, Science and English? This school in the Liverpool area are seeking a Learning Support Assistant (LSA) for general curriculum support for pupils with learning difficulties. You will work with pupils up to year 4 or KS 2. You will support pupils with behaviour difficulties and ADHD. The school is looking for a team player with good communication skills and an ability to work in partnership with teachers. Writing your own IEPs and be key worker for a few pupils and liaise with their parents are part of your daily activities. You will need to take initiative. You will report to and liaise with the head of the SEN department. The successful candidate will have to have referenceable experience with Special Needs pupils in a school environment or equivalent. It is essential to have excellent communication skills in order to have a good working relationship with pupils, teachers and parents. You will need to have very good behaviour management skills and be a team player. Good curriculum knowledge about Science, Maths and English is essential.This school has a very large Special Needs Department looking after pupils with various learning and behaviour difficulties. This implies that taking initiative is vital and that the head of the department will appoint in time more responsibilities to the successful candidate.
