Your new companyHays Recruitment are proud to be supporting an Ofsted rated "Outstanding" SEN Primary School in Anfield as they require motivated and experienced Teaching Assistants to support students across all year groups (reception/EYFS, KS1 & KS2). This is a long-term contract that will last until the end of the academic year and the school supports students with a variety of complex needs including ASD, none-verbal, downs syndrome, PDA and GLD. Your new roleIn your new role as an SEN Teaching Assistant within this school, you will be required to work across all year groups as required. You will be supporting pupils with SEN on a 1:1 and group basis, holding intervention and booster sessions, speech and language, phonics and support in all core subjects as required. You will effectively monitor and manage the students' engagement and behaviours by using positive behaviour techniques, including effectively identifying trigger points, distraction techniques, and taking students out of the class as required. What you'll need to succeedTo be considered for this role, you must have full "Right to Work" in the UK as well as a minimum of 40 days referenceable experience working with children and young people with SEN in the last 2 years, as well as:

  • An NVQ Level 2/3 or equivalent qualification in children's learning and development is advantageous but not essential
  • Previous experience or expert knowledge in SEN
  • Currently have or be willing to undergo a full DBS check
  • Previous experience with Makaton or PECs is advantageous but not essential
