SEN Teaching Assistant

Are you experienced in supporting children and young people with Special Educational Needs and disabilities? Are you an inspiring Teaching Assistant seeking a new opportunity? Can you positively impact young learners? Are you enthusiastic about working in a school environment with challenging pupils?

Randstad Education is partnering with specialist schools in L6 to support children and young people with various Special Educational Needs. We are looking for passionate, confident, and patient Teaching Assistants to join our team as soon as possible. This term-time position offers a fantastic opportunity to be part of a committed department, with potential for a permanent role within the school. You will work with students with diverse Special Educational Needs, including CLD, PMLD, SLD, ADHD, and Autism. While previous experience in schools or with young people is beneficial, it is not essential.

This role starts from September on a contract basis with the possibility of becoming permanent for the right candidate.

Roles and Responsibilities

  • Work with children and young people with various Special Educational Needs, including Autism and ADHD.
  • Serve as a confident, creative, and resilient behavior mentor who can build positive learning relationships with young people.
  • Ideally, have previous experience working in schools with SEN pupils.
  • Be patient, passionate, and professional.
  • Deliver lessons across a range of classes.
  • Plan, prepare, and deliver lessons to students.
  • Exhibit confidence, punctuality, and eagerness.
  • Plan lessons using the P Scales curriculum.
  • Build positive learning relationships with SEN pupils.
  • Be available to start immediately.
  • Demonstrate excellent communication and management skills.
  • Support students with a range of Special Educational Needs, including MLD, PMLD, SLD, ADHD, and Physical Disabilities.
  • Maintain a strong work ethic and a positive attitude.
