Year 5 Teaching Assistant

The School Governors of a Primary School, based in Huyton, are looking to appoint a Teaching Assistant to support a pupil with special needs. Ideally, school are looking for someone with previous experience of supporting children with special educational needs. Working in collaboration with the Senior Leadership Team (SLT), we are looking to appoint an enthusiastic, highly motivated person who is interested in working with primary age children with special educational needs. The person will work as part of a class team supporting a pupil in Year 5. This post is linked to SEND funding for a particular child. It is a fixed term post with a view to ending 18/7/25, this date is dependent on the linked child's EHCP funding.

Role Responsibilities:

  • Provide tailored support to a Year 5 pupil on a daily basis;
  • Ensuring the recommendations of the pupils EHCP are met;
  • Assist with classroom activities and individual learning needs;
  • Work together with the other classroom staff to ensure the pupil is included;
  • Support the child with their emotional and social development;
  • Work closely with teachers and other staff to develop and implement learning plans.
