Job Title: SEN Teaching Assistant

About the Role:
I am working on behalf of an SEN school looking for an enthusiastic and dedicated SEN Teaching Assistants to join their vibrant team at based in Knowsley. The successful candidate will provide tailored support to students with a range of special educational needs (SEN), helping them to reach their full potential both academically and socially. This is a fantastic opportunity for someone who is passionate about making a difference in the lives of young learners.
Key Responsibilities:

Support students with special educational needs in a classroom setting, under the guidance of the class teacher and SENCO (Special Educational Needs Coordinator).

Assist with the implementation of Individual Education Plans (IEPs), providing personalized support based on each student's needs.

Help students engage in learning activities, promoting independent learning and encouraging positive behaviour.

Foster a safe, inclusive, and supportive environment, ensuring the well-being of all students.

Assist in the preparation of learning materials and resources.

Monitor student progress and provide feedback to teachers and parents when required.

Work collaboratively with the wider school team, including therapists, external agencies, and other support staff.

Attend training sessions to continually develop professional skills in SEN and education.
Person Specification:

Experience: Previous experience working with children or young people with special educational needs is desirable, but not essential. A willingness to learn and develop is key.

Skills: Strong communication and interpersonal skills, patience, and the ability to engage with children with diverse needs.

Qualifications: A Level 2 or 3 Teaching Assistant qualification or equivalent is preferred but not essential.

Personal Qualities: Compassionate, proactive, and adaptable, with a genuine desire to support children with SEN.

DBS Check: The successful candidate will be required to undertake an enhanced DBS check.
