Within your new role you will be part of the Schools HR Team, working with five HR Business Partners, two Assistant HR Business Partners and the HR Manager to provide the highest quality ER & HR support to schools.

These roles are full time or term time only (39 weeks) - 35 hours per week for a fixed term until 31st July 2025. The location is hybrid working (home and Toxteth Annexe Conference Centre). These roles involve regular travel to meetings at school sites in and around Liverpool. Leave entitlement is 29 days plus bank holidays.

Key Responsibilities:

  • You will manage and monitor an ER case load focussing on attendance management and discipline/grievance investigations
  • Deal with high volume cases providing support to managers in schools
  • Advise, coach and guide managers on how to proceed with any absence; performance, disciplinary and grievance issues following best practice and ensuring compliance with employment law
  • Provide advice and guidance on national terms and conditions of employment
  • Build good relationships with all stakeholders, including trade union colleagues
  • Support HR Business Partners on other relevant projects

Personal Qualities

  • Experience working in Human Resources in an Employee Relations Advisor role
  • CIPD qualified
  • Understanding of Employment Law & HR 'best practice'
  • Knowledge of ER issues such as Sickness Absence Management, Discipline and Grievance
  • Self-motivated and organised with an ability to prioritise workload and work on own initiative
  • Experience of TUPE and Redundancy would be useful
