The Company Able Bridge Recruitment are delighted to be working with an events management business in the recruitment of a part time finance manager.

This newly created role is the result of an employee scaling back their work commitments and having the desire to work on a part time basis. This has in turn created an opportunity for somebody new to join the business.

Reporting directly to the finance director you will be working within a small team of accounts staff in preparing the accounts for a portfolio of customers. The hours of work are flexible and could be a couple of full days, half days or school hours.

The ResponsibilitiesThe purpose of this role is to provide a wide range of customers and members of our client with accounting services. The successful candidate will be working to complete the bookkeeping elements of our clients customers on a weekly, monthly & quarterly basis.

On a day-to-day basis you can expect to be responsible for the following;Completion of daily banking activities including reconciliation of accounts.Production of monthly management accounts for client review.Oversite and review of accruals, prepayments and journals.Maintenance of the sales and purchase ledgers ensuring that all invoices are accurately posted and ledgers are reconciled and balance.Calculation, production and distribution of VAT returns.Extensive use of the in-house system - Sage.

The RequirementsWe are ideally seeking an applicant who is part qualified ACCA/CIMA or AAT qualified, however our client has indicated that qualified by experience applicants will not be discounted. We are looking for an accountant/bookkeeper who has a demonstrable track record of working in finance within the UK. We would expect to see applications from candidates who have used Sage historically and who are systems literate. Our client is based in West Lothian and can be challenging to get to on public transport, as such we require peopled who can drive and who have a vehicle. Please note that whilst this is a part time role, we are not accepting applications from applicants on student VISA`s.
