My client is an international manufacturing organisation, with a fantastic reputation in a multitude of different industries including O&G, Marine and Renewables.

They are looking to add an experienced HSE Manager to their leadership team. This role will be based from their site in West Lothian, however will also have remote responsibility for their site in Aberdeen.

Responsibilities will include:

  • Ensuring company adheres to the most current and relevant UK HSE legislation
  • Keeping updated with alterations in legislation and implementing changes where relevant to maintain consistency with requirements
  • Conducting risk assessment to ensure safety & health hazards are corrected, eliminated or guarded
  • Participating and supporting in accident and near-miss investigations and recording the findings
  • General day to day activities, such as reports and briefs to improve site safety and support the site
  • Implement environmental strategies including carbon reduction plans, and processes to ensure continual improvement across operations in line with the company objectives
  • Lead the site on safety improvements

Qualifications & Experience required:

  • NEBOSH diploma or a post-graduate degree in Health, Safety & Environmental
  • CMIOSH
  • Experience of working in a heavy engineering environment
  • At least 3 years experience in a similar role, preferably in manufacturing
  • Knowledge and experience of the application of continuous improvement tools, specifically problem solving
  • Experience of communicating and influencing at all levels of an organisation
  • Experience working with external authorities
  • A sound understanding of the application of current and relevant HSE legislation
