They are seeking a talented and motivated Quantity Surveyor to join their team and contribute to the continued success of their projects across Scotland.

Key Responsibilities:

  • Manage all aspects of the contractual and financial side of construction projects.
  • Preparation and submission of accurate cost plans, tender documents, and project valuations.
  • Monitor project finances, including preparation of interim valuations, cost reports, and final accounts.
  • Measure and value work done on-site, ensuring that all variations are managed efficiently.
  • Negotiate and manage contracts with suppliers and subcontractors.
  • Ensure compliance with industry regulations and company standards.
  • Provide financial advice and support to the project team to help manage project risks.
  • Work closely with the project managers, design teams, and site teams to deliver projects on time and within budget.
  • Assist in the preparation of monthly management accounts.
  • Engage in value engineering exercises to ensure cost efficiency without compromising quality.

Qualifications and Experience:

  • Bachelor's degree in Quantity Surveying, Construction Management, or a related discipline.
  • Demonstrated experience in a Quantity Surveyor role, preferably with a main contractor.
  • RICS (Royal Institution of Chartered Surveyors) or equivalent professional qualification is advantageous.
  • Strong knowledge of JCT and NEC contracts.
  • Proficient in cost management software and Microsoft Office suite.
  • Strong analytical skills and attention to detail.
  • Excellent communication, negotiation, and interpersonal skills.
  • Ability to work under pressure and meet deadlines.
  • A proactive, problem-solving mindset with a commitment to continuous improvement.
