Are you passionate about supporting vulnerable families affected by domestic abuse? We are looking for a dedicated and compassionate individual to join our team as a Family Practitioner, providing vital assistance to new and expectant mothers, as well as their unborn or new born children, who are victims of domestic abuse.
Key Responsibilities:
- Support mothers and children in a safe, welcoming refuge environment.
- Develop and implement safety and support plans tailored to each family's needs.
- Work collaboratively with internal and external partners (e.g., health services, police, housing, legal support).
- Assist with housing applications, financial records, and ensure cleanliness and safety standards are met.
- Provide emotional support and promote positive parenting and family relationships.
- Engage with families in solution-focused support, advocating for their rights and safety.
- Maintain accurate records and case notes in line with policies and procedures.
Essential Criteria:
- Relevant qualifications or equivalent experience in social work or domestic abuse support.
- Understanding of the issues surrounding domestic abuse and its impact on families.
- Strong communication skills and experience working with vulnerable individuals.
- Ability to work flexibly, including evenings and weekends, and be part of an on-call rota.
- Full driver's license and use of own car.
Desirable Criteria:
- Experience in domestic abuse-related roles or working in supported housing.
- Knowledge of safeguarding procedures and child protection legislation.
- Ability to speak Welsh is a plus.
