Reed are seeking a Key Account Manager to oversee and manage customer relationships, ensuring the delivery of their services aligns with their client SLAs and maximising project profitability. This role is ideal for someone with strong commercial management, data analysis skills and a proven track record in handling complex customer accounts and projects.
Day-to-day of the role:
- Manage multiple projects from award to final account, ensuring delivery meets the expected gross margin percentage.
- Update and maintain commercial documents, including profitability overviews, and revenue/cost/margin forecasts on a monthly basis.
- Collaborate with the Finance Team to review and track cash flows and budget trackers for cost spend.
- Prepare and update the monthly business review file, discuss forecasting updates with senior management, and track monthly actuals against commitments, reporting on variances.
- Understand and manage contract requirements per project, focusing on milestone payments and revenue recognition to ensure compliance and maximise potential.
- Build and maintain positive relationships with customers to enhance opportunities for repeat business and additional scopes.
- Handle the raising, submission, and agreement of variance orders in line with contracts.
- Manage the accounts receivable position on projects, resolving disputes and handling negotiations to ensure timely payments.
- Conduct detailed formal project reviews monthly to assess profitability against bids and forecasts, identify opportunities and risks, and provide actionable feedback to project delivery and proposals teams.
- Support financial audits by providing necessary evidence.
- Prepare and present customer presentations and performance reports.
- Work with service managers to maximise revenue opportunities on key accounts, potentially involving the development of equipment dilapidation lists for customer assets.
- Ensure all contracts are communicated effectively to all relevant parties, supporting contract implementation, close-out, extension, or renewal.
- Manage ongoing issues and change management effectively.
Required Skills & Qualifications:
- Proven experience in key account management, preferably in a similar industry.
- Strong project and commercial management skills.
- Excellent understanding of contract terms, revenue recognition, and financial forecasting.
- Ability to build strong customer relationships and manage complex negotiations.
- Proficient in handling and resolving disputes and ensuring compliance with contractual obligations.
- Strong communication and presentation skills.
- Experience in financial reporting and conducting detailed project reviews.
