The Role: We are seeking a qualified accountant to join our team as Interim Audit Fee Variation Reviewer. This role is crucial in managing the increased volume of fee variation proposals following new statutory deadlines for local government audits. You will support our Finance Manager and collaborate with various stakeholders to ensure accurate and compliant fee variation processing.

Key Responsibilities:

  • Review and Recommend: Conduct initial reviews of fee variation proposals from audit suppliers, making informed recommendations.
  • Stakeholder Engagement: Communicate directly with audit suppliers and local government bodies to clarify and discuss fee variations.
  • Record Keeping: Maintain detailed records to support the fee variation process.
  • Collaboration: Work with the Data Analysis Manager and other team members to manage fee-related queries and data reporting.

Qualifications Required:

  • Professional Qualification: Qualified accountant (CCAB or equivalent), ideally with some auditing experience.
  • Attention to Detail: High level of accuracy and thoroughness in all tasks.
  • Analytical Ability: Strong problem-solving skills and the ability to make sense of complex information.
  • Communication: Excellent verbal and written communication skills, with the confidence to engage with stakeholders at all levels.
  • Organisational Skills: Ability to manage multiple tasks and meet tight deadlines.
