Butler Rose is working with one of the largest housing associations in London and the South-East in their search for an Assistant Development Accountant to join their team. This is a contract role up till 31st March 2025 with possibility of extension and will pay up to £26.29 per hour PAYE. Hybrid arrangements - at least three days a week in an office or in a community/site based/partnership setting. On other days, working from home may be possible, depending on the work needed and the interaction required.

In the role of Assistant Development Accountant, you will be instrumental provide essential financial and commercial information, ensuring that development finance activities are optimised. Your role will focus on maintaining the Group's project ledgers and all associated activities aligning financial strategies with operational goals.

Responsibilities:* Specialise in development finance tailored to the development of housing and commercial properties.* Facilitate effective communication across departments by addressing their specific needs.* Be knowledgeable and involved in overseeing financial performance and efficiency in the development and sales division.* Enhance decision-making of project managers by providing day-to-day financial advice through effective business partnering.* Work alongside the Treasury and Appraisal team to promote data-driven decisions.* Actively work on building and nurturing relationships both within the organisation and with external parties.* Adapt and refine reporting processes to suit the evolving needs of the development team, providing relevant financial analysis.

Required Experience:* Actively studying towards a recognised accountancy qualification AAT or CCAB.* Experience around Management Accounts, Budgets, forecasting, month end processes, deadlines needed.* Commit to the organisation's values and support team objectives assist in guiding team members* Good communication and interpersonal skills for effective internal team engagement.* Analytical skills for contributing to operational discussions and data analysis.* Understand and contribute to operational and tactical decision-making.* Strong Excel skills willingness to learn D365 and Power BI.* Evidence of effective working relationships within a finance team and other internal stakeholders.* Practical knowledge in processing invoices and a solid understanding of VAT treatment in construction schemes.
