The successful candidate we are looking for will be responsible for providing support to the Finance Operations team in day-to-day activities and to ensure that high quality services and information are underpinned by fully integrated and effective financial systems and processes.

The candidate will have ownership and responsibility for temporarily managing NHSR's financial systems including overseeing the administration of finance software, Business Central (MSDynamics 365) and Webexpenses.

The role will have responsibility for:

  • Support the Finance team and work with the Financial & Systems Controller to ensure effective controls are in place, monitored and reported with Management and Auditors as required.
  • Secondary subject matter contact between finance team, IT team and system suppliers, dealing with all parties when system issues arise, taking all reasonable steps to keep any disruption to a minimum and information is delivered safely and accurately.
  • Develop and maintain the finance system Business Central (BC).
  • Develop reporting using Power BI to integrate with BC, making sure reports are fit for purpose, deliver information efficiently, accurately and are user friendly.
  • Manage and maintain the staff expense claim system Webexpenses to ensure that all transactions are properly and accurately recorded to provide reliable and timely financial information. Develop, implement and maintain the system controls including reviewing relevant processes, its governance along with identifying and implementing continuous improvements.

The candidate will ideally have the following qualifications/track record:

  • Qualified Accountant with any recognised body (e.g., ACCA/CIMA, CIPFA, etc.), or equivalent relevant experience
  • Trained user of data intelligence and query tools such as SQL, Power BI, Power Query or equivalent tools.
  • Significant experience of project management in relation to financial system implementation and development
  • Have practical experience in a range of financial systems and processes including appropriate knowledge
  • Competent in the management of financial systems, processes financial reporting and governance arrangements
