Assistant Management Accountant + Study Support | Fast Growth International Hospitality Group | London / Hybrid

Harmonic are proud to be working on an exclusive basis with a scaling hospitality group on the hire of an Assistant Management Accountant to join the team in a newly created position.

Reporting to the UK Finance Director this is one of the most exciting roles that Harmonic will be bringing to market this year.

This role is newly created and has come around because of sustained growth over the past few years. Our client has successfully expanded their business to over 60 stores, which are a mix of pop-ups and retail stores, not only across the UK market but also internationally. Now sold across 4 different continents this brand is globally recognized for its high-quality products which have been perfected over time and are enjoyed in the millions.

With expansion plans to open another 2 sites in just London alone this position will serve as a key hire to their continued success and future growth of the business as well as a great platform to grow your career.

The culture of the business is dynamic and always evolving. They are a business who pride themselves in trying to achieve best practice and always looking innovation and improvement. Whilst the Head Office team in London is small, it would suit candidates who enjoy working with autonomy and being part of a high calibre senior leadership team.

The role:

This role will oversee the timely and insightful reporting across the group. Working alongside the UK Finance Director this role will be responsible for supporting with the production of the monthly management accounts whilst you complete your studies, with direct progression to Management Accountant in time.

路 Take full ownership completing month-end process in a timely and accurate

fashion, including taking initiative to improve processes where appropriate.

路 Production of monthly and year end P&L, Balance Sheet and Cashflow statement

for review by UK Finance Director

路 Production of P&L and Balance sheet reconciliations with supporting commentary

for review by the Finance Director

路 Review accuracy and completeness of all posted invoices during the month

路 Oversee subscriptions, utility contracts and other business expenses.

路 Responsibility for standard month end journal entries: Stock, accruals,

prepayments, payroll.

路 Regular maintenance and update of fixed asset register, to ensure accuracy of

Fixed Assets balance

路 Ensure accuracy of Intercompany balances including liaising with members of other group companies

路 Regular cash flow forecasting and variance analysis versus previous

路 Assist UK Finance Director with annual budget and reforecasts

路 Review Power BI Reports and determine any required actions in response to outliers, taking responsibility for implementing or following up the implementation of these actions

路 Assist in completing the year end audit, taking ownership of the UK retail company's financial statements

路 Preparation and completeness of VAT Returns

What our client would like to see:

  • Articulate spoken and written communication skills
  • Part qualified ACA, CIMA or ACCA and currently studying
  • Strong Excel skills and eagerness to support with commentary and analysis
  • Enthusiasm to be part of a scaling SME
  • Confident with presenting financial information to stakeholders

What we would like to see (non-essential):

  • Experience in retail, hospitality, restaurants, pub groups, gym groups or multisite setting would be beneficial but is not a requirement
  • Experience working in an SME / Start-up or environment where there has been change and development

Salary range: 拢35-40k + study support

Location: Zone 1 / Hybrid working offered

Availability: 6 weeks notice maximum
