Assistant Management Accountant | Fast-Growth PR Agency | London

Harmonic are delighted to be working exclusively with a fast-growth PR agency to fill their Assistant Management Accountant role. They are well regarded in the industry to have one of the highest retention rates and extensive progression opportunities, boasting numerous agency of the year awards.

They are currently looking for a passionate, hands-on individual to support the Head of Finance. The agency, currently boasting a turnover of £15 million, is poised for remarkable growth, anticipating a substantial increase of 50% to 75% year on year, making this an exciting time to be joining the company. With the company's offices based in Holborn, it offers access to a number of areas perfect for keeping up with the creative, lively and social work team.

The Role:

The candidate will support the day-to-day handling of accounting processes. The candidate will receive mentorship and gain exposure to Management Accounting. Emphasis is placed on the importance of culture, embracing respect and ambition. The Assistant Management Accountant will need to show the potential to take on wider roles and responsibilities.

Responsibilities:

  • Support key financial processes, support the Head of Finance and raise standards across the agency.
  • Support of month-end procedure.
  • Income recognition, questioning budget approvals and scrutinising work before providing income summaries to the Head of Finance.
  • Cash and bank responsibilities. Including updating daily cash postings, along with short-term cashflow forecast, month-end bank reconciliations and petty cash reconciliations.
  • Liaising with project leads on client spend and ensuring and issues are dealt with swiftly.
  • Accounts payable, chasing Purchase Orders, ensuring invoices are processed accurately and the correct procedure has been carried out by employees.
  • Management of company credit cards, ensuring the completion of monthly statements and chasing missing receipts.
  • Accounts receivable, including the completion of monthly client billing, liaising with accounts leads and chasing client debt where required.
  • Assist Financial Controller in month-end reporting to the board. This would include utilization reports, absence reports and detailed debtor's ledgers.
  • Updating timesheets each week.

What we need (essential):

  • In studies - ACCA/CIMA/ACA.
  • At least 2 years' experience in creative/media agencies.
  • Excellent excel and IT skills.
  • Strong organisational skills and high attention to detail.
  • Ambition to progress with the drive to flourish in the agency's entrepreneurial environment.
  • A desire to learn and approach difficult tasks with courage.
