Reed Online has a fantastic opportunity for an experienced Assistant Management Accountant to join our team. In this role, you will be responsible for delivering month-end financial accounts up to Trial Balance and performing balance sheet reconciliations for one of our group's subsidiaries, Reed Business School.

Key Responsibilities

  • Managing all aspects of accounts payable: posting, coding, pay run

  • Performing revenue calculation (knowledge of dealing with apprenticeship is an advantage)

  • Posting month-end journals

  • Producing accurate and timely balance sheet reconciliations

  • Demonstrating a good understanding of the financial position of the organisation at all times

  • Filing VAT returns

  • Recommending and implementing process improvements

  • Supporting ad-hoc projects

Skills and Experience

  • A minimum of 3 years experience in a similar role is essential

  • Part-qualified CIMA, ACCA or actively studying towards CIMA/ACCA?

  • Experience producing accounts up to Trial Balance

  • Proficiency in Excel and accounting softwares - Workday experience advantageous

  • Strong analytical and problem solving skills

  • Accuracy and excellent attention to detail

  • Good organisational and time management skills

  • Ability to work with a degree of autonomy and self-regulation and with a hands on proactive approach

  • Ability to produce timely and accurate information in a pressurised environment

  • Excellent written and verbal communication skills

  • Able to develop relationships and communicate with stakeholders at all levels and challenge where necessary
