Halliday Marx have exclusively partnered with a small financial services firm to hire an Assistant Management Accountant on a permanent basis.

This role is fully office based in the city.

Responsibilities

  • Monthly balance sheet reconciliations & investigation of variances.
  • Responsible for accurate & timely completion of the month end close.
  • Monthly journals: prepayments & accruals, loan apportionment, intercompany recharges, depreciation & amortisation, etc.
  • Monthly bank reconciliations. Daily posting of bank transactions to GL.
  • Manage Group fixed asset registers.
  • Group consolidated balance sheet analysis.
  • Preparation of monthly management accounts for Group Companies.
  • Preparation of quarterly VAT returns and supporting documentation.
  • Assist in collation of supporting documents for audit
  • Management of employee expenses process (oversee claims, obtain approvals, etc)
  • Preparation of monthly payroll & pension contributions.
  • Weekly review of company card transactions, confirm approvals, flag unauthorised transactions.
  • Management of AP process (post invoices, obtain invoice approvals, resolve billing queries/disputes, etc).
  • Weekly Group pay runs for AP & employee expenses.
  • Organise all payments and obtain timely authorisation from relevant bank approvers.
  • Support Senior Accountant & CFO by providing accurate adhoc analysis/reports
  • Submission of Group confirmation statements..
  • Other ad hoc: sales invoices, financial administration, P&L/BS analysis, etc.

Requirements

  • Happy to work 5 days a week in the office with the other legends
  • 2 years experience within accounting
  • Professional exposure to both the p&l and balance sheet
  • Very capable with accruals, prepayments & journals
