Our Client:A distinguished and influential non-profit organisation located in London committed to academic excellence, innovation, and fostering a diverse and inclusive learning environment is seeking an Assistant Management Accountant.The Role:The Assistant Management Accountant will support financial decision-making, conduct variance analysis against the budget, and provide detailed commentary for management reports to support of the Finance Business Partner. Additionally, they will ensure accurate record-keeping and assist with year-end audit preparations and queries. Main duties:
  • Support the Finance Business Partner and Senior Business Partner in the month-end process.
  • Prepare and record periodic adjustments, including journals, accruals, and deferrals.
  • Analyse and present financial data for variance analysis and commentary.
  • Conduct detailed analysis to identify key drivers of financial performance.
  • Assist in the preparation and posting of budgets and re-forecasts.
  • Aid in the preparation of statutory accounts and resolve audit-related queries.
  • Review monthly management accounts with budget holders, highlighting variances.
 The Successful Candidate
  • Proven experience in a similar finance role with the ability to manage changing priorities and high-pressure workloads.
  • Strong attention to detail and accuracy, with the capability to work independently and take initiative.
  • Hands-on experience in financial data analysis and presentation.
  • Excellent communication skills, with the ability to build and maintain relationships with internal and external stakeholders.
  • Demonstrable experience in an accounting role within a higher education environment.
