Salary: £40,000 to £55,000 per annum - Negotiable, dependent on experience.

Location: Pinner, Northwest London, permanent, full-time, office based 9-5.30pm (some flexibility of working from home).

We are recruiting for a qualified or advanced part qualified Audit & Accounts Senior to support the Audit and Accounts Manager at a progressive and friendly practice.

Our Client is seeking an qualified of part-qualified accountant (either ICAEW or ACCA), or qualified by experience, with good all-round accountancy skills to grow within an organisation and learn on the job.

Requirements:

  • ACCA/ICAEW qualified, newly qualified or part qualified, or qualified by experience
  • Minimum 5 years in-practice experience
  • Familiar with financial reporting standards
  • Experience of statutory tax
  • Experience of external audits
  • Management Accounting & VAT reporting
  • Experience of Bookkeeping

As business and tax advisors and auditors they help both large companies and SME’s with: statutory accounts, payroll, audit, tax planning, management accounts, bookkeeping, credit control and more.

They have earned a reputation for delivering excellence across a wide variety of sectors, including manufacturing, engineering, construction, property and IT.

The Role:

In this role, you will assist the managers and partners in delivery of statutory audit and accounts preparation services, as well as manage and allocate work to trainees.

As the Audit and Accounts Senior your day-to-day will include:

  • Planning and delivery of audit/accounts assignments
  • Carrying out assignments in conjunction with the client manager’s or partners’ instructions.
  • Supervising junior staff during the audit / accounts processes and reviewing their work
  • Delivering the audit file to the assignment manager or partner in a timely manner
  • Managing client communication in effective manner
  • Proactive monitoring of your chargeability and your assignment budgets
  • Coaching other staff for improved performance and technical development
  • Drafting corporation tax computations

What you bring to the table

  • As well as the usual experience and qualifications, you bring personality, enthusiasm, common-sense and a good work ethic.
  • Proven experience of OMB/SME private company audits (planning, budget preparation, identifying key risks, developing an audit plan, executing the audit on site)
  • Knowledge of and experience with current auditing standards and approaches (analytical review, documenting systems and controls, sampling techniques)
  • Prior experience of statutory company accounts preparation under UK GAAP / FRS 102, and also friendly societies, charities and LLPs
  • Knowledge of IFRS would be useful, but is not essential
  • Experience of preparing and auditing consolidated accounts would be useful, but is not essential
  • Experience with working in teams on-site and in the office
  • Experience of preparing budgets and monitoring actual time against budget
