We're seeking an experienced part-time audit manager to join this established accountancy practice in central London. You'll play a pivotal role in streamlining the audit processes and leading a team of auditors to ensure high-quality audit engagements.

The Role

They are seeking an Audit Manager to oversee and develop the audit function. The successful candidate will play a pivotal role in streamlining audit processes, ensuring compliance with relevant regulations, and supporting the firms growth by enhancing their audit capacity.

Key Responsibilities:

  • Audit Planning and Execution: Develop and implement audit plans and strategies to ensure compliance with internal policies and external regulations.
  • Team Leadership: Lead and manage a team of auditors, providing guidance, support, and mentorship to ensure high-quality audit engagements.
  • Risk Assessment: Identify potential risks and develop strategies to mitigate them, ensuring robust risk management processes are in place.
  • Client Relations: Maintain strong client relationships, acting as a point of contact for audit-related matters and ensuring client satisfaction.
  • Process Improvement: Identify opportunities for improving audit processes and methodologies, contributing to the firms efficiency and effectiveness.
  • Compliance Monitoring: Ensure compliance with internal audit methodology, risk management, and external regulatory requirements.

The Candidate

  • Ideally qualified (e.g. ACA, ACCA, or CIPFA) with experience in auditing or accounting roles or QBE with demonstrable audit experience.
  • Strong technical knowledge of auditing principles, standards, and practices.
  • Proven experience in leading, supervising, and coaching members of staff.
  • Excellent communication skills, with the ability to present complex financial information clearly and effectively. Hardworking mentality and well-organised
  • Strong analytical and problem-solving abilities.
  • Meticulous attention to detail to ensure accuracy and compliance in all audit processes.
  • Ability to manage multiple projects and deadlines in a fast-paced environment.
  • High ethical standards and integrity when dealing with sensitive financial information.
  • Demonstrates a strong awareness of the commercial aspects of audit engagements, ensuring that assignments are conducted efficiently and within budget. Balances technical excellence with practical business considerations, identifying opportunities to enhance profitability while maintaining high-quality audit standards. Proactively manages resources, timelines, and client expectations to deliver value-driven audit solutions.

Salary and Benefits

  • Salary up to £60k FTE* (dependent on experience and qualifications)
  • This is a permanent role seeking circa 24 hours per week, working full days or spreading the hours across the week.
  • There is a requirement to be office based in Central London at least twice per week.
  • Statutory holidays and pension.
