Our client a high-growth FinTech business is looking for a forward-looking, analytical and operational Accountant to take ownership of the COGS reporting for a federated network of European entities. This role offers an exciting opportunity to be an important contributor on both administrative and operational matters related to group COGS in a mid-sized firm.

COGS Accountant

Salary: £60,000-£75,000

Location: London

Our client is seeking a forward-looking, analytical and operational Accountant to take ownership of the COGS reporting for a federated network of European entities. This role offers an exciting opportunity to be an important contributor on both administrative and operational matters related to group COGS in a mid-sized FinTech firm. The successful candidate will have overall responsibility for the accounting and financial reporting for COGS, offering a unique chance to shape and influence key business decisions.

What you'll do:

  • Manage the costing process for both new and existing products

  • Develop and maintain robust costing models

  • Provide detailed information on product costs

  • Offer recommendations for the best course of action to optimize business outcomes

  • Collaborate with New Product Development to assess cost implications for products and product changes

  • Undertake scenario analysis for key stakeholders on an ad-hoc basis

  • Participate in monthly Profit & Loss calls, review variance analyses prepared by other members of the team or other teams, and manage the end-to-end COGS Control process, including reviewing Transfer Pricing models and accounting treatment

  • Perform monthly/quarterly close processes and reconciliations

  • Analyse COGS trends and provide insights to management

What you bring:

  • Qualified accountant (ACA/ ACCA/ CPA/ CIMA)

  • Proficient in NetSuite

  • Excellent analytical and problem-solving skills

  • Strong attention to detail and accuracy

  • Ability to work independently and as part of a team

  • IFRS reporting required

  • Local European GAAP reporting experience beneficial

  • European languages would be beneficial
