My client in the public sector is expanding and are looking to add 3 Finance Business Partners to their large team.

The role will be offered on a fulltime permanent basis and the successful candidate will need to undergo CTC level vetting so it wont be an immediate start.

You will be based in North London and a in typical week, you would be in the office 3 days with the remainder from home. You may be required to attend other sites as meetings require and depending on the location of the business group you are supporting.

It is essential that you are a CCAB qualified accountant (ACCA/CIMA/ACA/CIPFA). Previous experience in the public sector will be valuable but by no means essential.

You would be tasked with supporting the Assistant Director Finance Business Partner and the Senior Finance Business Partner in ensuring that the organisation achieves value for money and maximises value from the services it delivers while meeting the needs of the Business. This will be achieved by helping provide insight and support mainly at an operational level, highlighting potential risks/opportunities and identifying options to drive continuous cost reductions and performance improvement within the reducing budget envelope.

This includes:

• Supporting the Senior Finance Business Partner in providing the Executive with value added and timely analysis regarding actual results and forecasts, proposing options to ensure the organisation achieves its operational goals, whilst continually reducing costs and improving performance.

• Supporting the Senior Finance Business Partner in providing the Executive with value added and timely analysis regarding actual results and forecasts, proposing options to ensure the organisation achieves its operational goals, whilst continually reducing costs and transforming services.

• Building good relationships with the Business Groups in order to influence and deliver value for the organisation through the implementation of the financial strategy.

• Support the Senior Finance Business Partner with the design, build and maintenance of costing models that address structure and service issues. The analysis should address the commercial needs of the business and focus on identifying areas of improvements, controlling spend and continually analysing critical categories of expenditure in order to help implement the financial strategy.

• Provide support for projects (regular and adhoc) including business and strategic planning, investment appraisals, acquisitions, disposals and contract bids.

• Assist managers and Strategic and Corporate Finance in producing and managing the group budget and strategic plan process, including providing effective support during the budget process through analysis of divisional budget proposals and presentations to ensure that budgets and savings plans are robust.

• Develop analytics that support the tracking of operational demand (including trend analyses) so that Business Groups can effectively introduce demand management mechanisms where applicable for the services.
