We are looking for an experienced Finance Officer for this 'hands-on’ and broad permanent role, to join this exciting not for profit and membership organisation based in the heart of London.

This role as a Finance Officer sits within the Operations team whose primary focus is to ensure operational efficiencies. In this key role you will be responsible for the day-to-day financial operations including the accurate maintenance of financial records across the organisation.

Reporting to the Head of Finance, your daily duties will include:

  • Responsible for the posting and payment of supplier invoices in a timely manner, ensuring accurate coding and authorisation.
  • Maintenance of supplier accounts, reconciliations and remittances.
  • Responsible for the processing of the sales invoices ensuring they are accurately recorded for the varied income streams.
  • Responsible for posting of all bank statement items, receipts and payments, whilst completing bank reconciliations for all the varied accounts
  • Support with the credit control, including the management of aged debtors, chasing overdue debts.
  • Complete all month end procedures within agreed timescales.
  • Reconcile and prepare the quarterly VAT returns for review by the Head of Finance
  • Assist the Head of Finance in monitoring cash flows.
  • Reconcile and maintain the balance of petty cash.
  • Review and when appropriate ensure that procedures are improved and maintained to a very high standard.

The successful candidate will be an experienced part-qualified Finance Officer with a good understanding of double-entry bookkeeping. It is essential that you have excellent financial processing transaction, review and reporting experience. You must possess strong MS Excel experience with the ability to use functions such as pivot tables and vlookup’s.

You must have first class interpersonal and communication skills, an excellent customer service approach, with strong attention to detail and can 'hit the ground running’ to add value within the finance and wider teams.
