A well established and highly prestigious organisation in London is seeking a Finance Officer to join their team on a permanent basis. The Finance Officer is responsible to provide control over the sales ledger and other income streams, to provide control over the reconciliation of all bank and cash accounts, and to maintain a business partner relationship will all departments on relevant financial issues.

The successful candidate will need to be office based for four days per week with some flexibility on start and finish times.

Responsibilities include:

Sales Ledger:

  • To ensure sales invoices are raised in a timely manner and entered accurately into the financial system.
  • To proactively manage aged debtors, ensuring items are followed up in a timely manner and are fully reconciled for review.
  • To communicate with other Departments in relation to debt management issues, ensuring these are fully resolved.

Bank Reconciliation

  • To reconcile all organisation and Trading subsidiary bank accounts, ensuring transactions are brought to account in a timely manner.
  • To manage the daily import of income, ensuring there is a full reconciliation with the end of day reports and discrepancies are investigated in a timely manner.
  • To liaise with other Departments in all matters relating to bank reconciliation issues, ensuring these are resolved and recorded accurately within the system.
  • To reconcile all cash floats, including petty cash.

Other:

  • To contribute to the development of the Finance Function, ensuring procedures and controls are documented and adhered to.
  • To work closely with the Finance Assistant, assisting as required to ensure financial data is accurately processed and covering tasks in their absence.
  • To assist the Finance Manager as required eg cashflow forecasting, month end journals etc.

Desirable Technical Attributes

  • Excellent working knowledge of accounting packages (Business Central 365, NAV or similar software preferable), Excel, Word, Outlook and other software packages.

Desirable background

  • Experience of working within the Charity sector.
  • Experience of hospitality business.
