Venn Group has partnered with a national youth homelessness charity to recruit for a Finance Officer on a 6 month interim contract. The role will lead on the day to day operation of the accounts payable, accounts receivable, credit control and cash management functions, and will work closely with other members of the Finance team.
Key duties:
- Oversee daily accounts payable operations, including weekly payment runs
- Manage monthly purchase ledger reconciliations, aged creditors analysis and intercompany reconciliations
- Lead on the day to day operation of the purchase ledger function, ensuring invoices are raised on time and in line with agreements with funders
- Collect and record all non-rental income, in accordance with the charity’s income and internal controls policies
- Analyse the aged debts report and ensure credit control procedures are followed
- Monitor and record all cash transactions in the Finance system, and ensure petty cash is accounted for in line with internal controls and procedures.
- Oversee the processing, review, and reconciliation of staff and credit card expenses in line with internal policies
- Review nominal ledger activity and post journals for on a timely basis to ensure ledger information is accurate and complete in line with month end timetable
- Prepare month-end reconciliations for allocated balance sheet accounts, including fixed assets, bank accounts, debtors, accrued/deferred income and intercompany balances
- Work with internal teams and external stakeholders to ensure that income is received and cash is held and monitored, in accordance with internal controls and regulatory requirements
Ideal candidate profile:
- AAT Qualified or Part Qualified (ACCA/CIMA)
- Purchase and sales ledger experience
- Experience in intercompany reconciliations
- Strong finance system knowledge

Hourly rate: £18-20 per hour PAYE (inclusive of holiday pay)
Working hours: Hybrid (2 days on site / 3 days from home)
Working pattern: 37.5 hours a week
