Finance Officer
* Salary: £36,354 (ILW) per annum, plus pension and other benefits
* Hours: Full-time (37.5 hours per week)
* Location: Hybrid 2 days per week in the office, based near London Bridge
* Contract: 6-Months Fixed Term Contract

Charity People are thrilled to be working with a leading UK charity dedicated to supporting individuals at risk of homelessness. This organisation works across the country, providing innovative services that prevent homelessness, build resilience, and create opportunities for education, employment, and volunteering.
Key Responsibilities:
Sales Ledger
* Oversee the day-to-day operations of the sales ledger.
* Ensure accurate and timely invoicing and income collection.
* Manage credit control processes and resolve queries regarding income invoices.
Banking and Cash Administration
* Monitor and record cash transactions promptly.
* Ensure compliance with cash handling policies, including managing petty cash and reconciliations.
Purchase Ledger
* Manage purchase ledger operations and weekly payment runs.
* Reconcile supplier statements and aged creditor reports.
* Ensure all non-payroll costs comply with internal policies and controls.
Management Accounts
* Assist in preparing monthly management accounts and reconciliations.
* Post accurate journal entries and review ledger activity to meet month-end deadlines.
Systems and Process Improvements
* Enhance the efficiency of finance systems and processes.
* Support continuous improvement across accounts receivable, cash book, and related systems.
Other Duties
* Provide cover for Finance Assistant roles as needed.
* Support year-end audit preparations and respond to auditor queries.
What We're Looking For:
We're seeking a proactive, organised finance professional with:
* Part-qualified accountant status or extensive experience in financial roles.
* Strong experience in accounts payable, receivable, and credit control.
* Excellent IT skills, with the ability to identify and implement process improvements.
* Strong numeracy, attention to detail, and decision-making skills.
