Financial Accountant

Salary: £60,000-£65,000 + bonus and benefits

Location: London

Our client is seeking a qualified Financial Accountant with a technical mindset and a strong desire to learn. This is an exciting opportunity for someone eager to apply their knowledge in a practical setting within a complex multinational emerging market environment. The role offers a blend of technical specialist responsibilities, specifically in IFRS problem analysis, alongside numerous opportunities to collaborate with wider Finance, Group functions and local markets on various one-off projects and transactions.

What you'll do:

  • Working on technical accounting topics - researching new questions, documenting accounting memos and policies, and training local teams on technical IFRS

  • Collaborating on diverse finance projects and activities, including M&A and Debt transactions

  • Assisting in preparing and reviewing Group financial statements (quarterly and annual) for SEC submission

  • Adherence to and improvement of internal controls (SOX and similar)

  • Assisting with audit requests from the Group's auditors during review and audit engagements

  • Engaging with cross-functional teams on ad hoc finance requests

  • Continuously learning and adapting in a dynamic work environment

Personal specification:

  • In-depth knowledge of IFRS accounting standards

  • 'Big 4' audit trained or experience auditing large multinational companies or working in a group reporting role in large multinational organisation

  • Strong analytical skills and technical acumen

  • Eagerness to learn and grow within the role

  • Bachelor's degree or similar strong academics

  • Professional qualification such as CPA, ACA, ACCA, or equivalent is highly preferred
