Job Summary:
This role involves maintaining accurate financial records, ensuring compliance, and enhancing efficiency in accounting processes. Responsibilities include; general ledger maintenance, reconciliations, financial reporting, month-end close activities, improve financial workflows and support decision-making.
Key Responsibilities:
Financial Reporting & Compliance
- Assist in producing UK GAAP-compliant financial statements.
- Maintain and implement accounting policies and internal controls.
- Prepare documentation for external audits.
Financial Operations
- Manage accounts payable, payroll processing, and general ledger reconciliation.
- Support month-end and year-end close processes.
- Identify and implement process improvements to enhance financial operations.
Financial Insights & Strategy
- Analyse financial data to support business decisions and growth strategies.
- Assist with complex accounting transactions, ensuring compliance with best practices.
- Work across departments to refine financial workflows.
Stakeholder & Team Collaboration
- Collaborate with finance leadership and internal/external stakeholders to ensure transparency.
- Provide operational support to management on accounting matters.
- Uphold financial controls and compliance with accounting standards.
Person Specification:
- Undergraduate degree in Accounting, Finance, or related field.
- 3+ years of accounting experience, ideally combining public accounting and industry experience in retail, hospitality, or a fast-paced environment.
- Strong analytical and problem-solving skills with the ability to manage deadlines and collaborate effectively.
- Solid technical knowledge of UK GAAP.
- VLOOKUP and Pivot Tables.
