Job Overview:

The Financial Accountant is a crucial member of the Central Finance department, focusing on enhancing the financial reporting processes. This role reports to the Head of Finance and plays a key role in the continuous improvement of the financial reporting cycle.

Responsibilities:
  • Document processes for management focusing on the balance sheet and Financial Statement Close Process.
  • Review internal control procedures to ensure transaction completeness, accuracy, and timeliness.
  • Assist in preparing financial statements in compliance with IFRS, using CaseWare.
  • Improve reporting requirements, schedules, and reports linking various accounting and reporting modules.
  • Support the Finance Manager and Head of Finance in driving process improvements and consistency.
  • Prepare and compile audit documentation and act as a key contact for the external audit process.
About the Team:

This role is within the Central Finance department, which includes the General Ledger, Accounts Payable, and Cash/Treasury teams. The department provides financial support to the main business units and several smaller entities. Responsibilities include ensuring the accuracy of the Balance Sheet, processing transactions in compliance with control standards, and preparing various financial reports and statutory accounts.

Here You’ll Get to:
  • Develop and maintain relationships with key stakeholders in the business units and central finance teams.
  • Provide executive summaries of complex processes to management.
  • Ensure a clean Financial Statement Close Process and support the annual group review of controls.
  • Design and implement improved processes and reporting templates.
  • Assist with group and statutory external audit requirements and month-end and quarter-end reporting.
  • Manage changes to financial systems and implement automated workflows.
We’re Looking For:

A Qualified Accountant (ACA or equivalent) with experience in a controls-based environment and a strong technical background in IFRS accounting. The ideal candidate should have:

  • Experience in preparing statutory accounts or auditing mid-sized corporations.
  • Excellent interpersonal and relationship management skills.
  • Strong analytical and process-oriented mindset.
  • Advanced Excel skills and knowledge of SAP and/or BOFC.
  • Experience with financial system controls (e.g., SOX).
