We're partnering with an ambitious international NGO driving action on the climate crisis to recruit an Interim Financial Accountant for a period of 6 months. With operations across multiple regions, the organisation is preparing for a busy financial year-end and new system implementation and is seeking an adaptable and proactive finance professional to support the small but high-performing team.

This role will be critical in supporting accurate and timely financial reporting, helping close the year cleanly while embedding better processes as they transition to a new finance system. You'll take ownership of reconciliations, reporting, and audit prep, while collaborating closely with global colleagues.

Key Responsibilities

  • Deliver monthly balance sheet reconciliations and analysis
  • Oversee key income and expense accruals, including deferred income and intercompany charges
  • Prepare monthly cashflow forecasts and support treasury reviews
  • Manage invoicing and income recognition for grants, memberships, and events
  • Assist with audit prep and statutory reporting
  • Produce monthly reporting packs and commentary for senior leadership
  • Support data migration and testing for the new finance system
  • Respond to internal finance queries and support process improvement initiatives

About You

  • Part-qualified or qualified accountant (ACA, ACCA, CIMA or equivalent) with at least two years' experience in a similar role
  • Confident with multi-entity reconciliations, reporting, and intercompany transactions
  • Excellent Excel skills and strong aptitude for finance systems
  • Comfortable working remotely and across global teams
  • Nonprofit or international experience a bonus but not essential

The role may well be extended with the potential to go permanent for the right candidate. The contract is hybrid with 2-3 days per week required in the Central London office and benefits on offer include a 9 day-fortnight and generous holiday allowance. A day rate may also be considered.
