Role Summary
Reporting into the Finance Manager within this growing Group Finance function, this is an exciting opportunity to be jointly responsible for all transactional and reporting activity for our head office companies.
This will range from processing and managing accounts receivable, to posting month end journals, reconciling the balance sheets, and producing audited statutory accounts. You will also support the development of our accounting system.
It is an ideal role for a talented part-qualified accountant looking to build on their 4+ years of experience in a relevant role.
Key Activities & Responsibilities;
- Ownership of accounts receivable process, from raising invoices to credit control and cash allocation
- Maintenance of fixed asset register and posting of related month end journals
- Managing multi-currency ledgers
- Preparation and entry of month end journals in accordance with the timetable (including, but not limited to accruals, prepayments, depreciation)
- Accounting for Head Office property company.
- Reconciliation of intercompany balances
- Production of monthly balance sheet reconciliations
- Reporting of Head office entities into Oracle FCCs on a monthly basis.
- Preparation of statutory accounts and year end audit files for head office entities
Requirements for the role;
Qualifications/Education
- Strong academics
- Intermediate stage or part-qualified accountant (ACA, ACCA, CIMA or equivalent)
Knowledge & Skills
- Highly organised, with the ability to take the initiative and prioritise workload to meet key deadlines; takes responsibility for tasks and their delivery
- Excellent attention to detail; works accurately and efficiently
- Alerts manager to any questions or issues
- Builds strong relationships with people at all levels in the organisation
- Comfortable dealing with senior management in a professional, knowledgeable manner
- Questioning; identifies and drives improvements to processes and controls
- A continuous improvement mindset, with the ability to identify and deliver process improvements
- Excellent understanding of general ledger accounting and multicurrency ledgers
Salary & Benefits;
The role of Financial Accountant will pay £45,000 - £50,000 (DOE), hybrid working (2 days in the office), plus full study support and up to 10% annual bonus
