The firm has grown to a team of 200+ partner-level lawyers, with year-on-year growth. The firm has ten UK offices in London (x3), Leeds, Manchester, Liverpool, Chester, Leicester Birmingham, and Stoke-on-Trent.
They are seeking a skilled Financial Accountant, to join our growing finance team, to maintain our financial records and ensure compliance with accounting regulations.
Responsibilities
- Managing and maintaining financial records, including general ledger accounts and financial statements
- Reviewing financial documents and transactions to ensure accuracy and compliance
- Performing financial analysis and reporting to support business decisions
- Preparing and reviewing annual/quarterly forecasts and financial reports
- Developing and implementing economic policies and procedures in the company
- Providing timely financial information to support decision-making processes
- Contributing to the overall financial health and stability of the organisation
- Prepare and present statements, such as balance sheets, income and cash flow.
- Perform monthly and annual financial closing activities.
- Reconcile financial discrepancies by collecting and studying account information.
- Analyse financial data to identify trends, variances and opportunities for improvement and provide insights to management for decision-making.
- Manage treasury payment issues where applicable, including domestic and foreign payments.
- Ensure that the organisation complies with all financial regulations, including tax laws, accounting standards and reporting requirements.
- Assist in the financial set up of new overseas offices & liaise with accountants in those countries to ensure all local regulations are complied with
Candidate Profile
- Professional certification such as CPA (Certified Public Accountant) or ACCA (Association of Chartered Certified Accountants) is preferred or QBE
- 4+ years of experience in accounting or finance
- Good technical knowledge in tax and accounting
- Strong understanding of accounting principles, practices and procedures
- Proficiency in Microsoft Office Suite (Outlook, Excel, Word)
- Excellent analytical and problem-solving skills
- Attention to detail and accuracy in financial data analysis and reporting
- Ability to work independently and collaboratively in a team environment
- Effective communication and interpersonal skills
- Preferred skills and qualifications
- Experience in financial analysis and forecasting.
- Knowledge of accounting software such as Xero
- Experience in a multinational or cross-cultural work environment.
- Knowledge of IFRS (International Financial Reporting Standards).
- Great organisational and time management skills.
