About the Company:A fast-growing, privately-owned healthcare business based in London, dedicated to manufacturing and delivering top-tier healthcare products across the UK and Europe. With a focus on operational efficiency, the company is expanding rapidly and requires a highly skilled Financial Controller to manage its financial operations.

Key Responsibilities:

As the Financial Controller, you will be a senior leader within the finance team, responsible for overseeing the day-to-day financial operations of the company and ensuring robust financial control and reporting. Your role will focus on ensuring the company maintains a sound financial position as it continues to grow.

1. Financial Management & Reporting

  • Oversee the preparation of monthly, quarterly, and annual financial statements.
  • Ensure compliance with UK accounting standards (UK GAAP) and relevant tax regulations.
  • Prepare consolidated financial reports for multiple entities within the healthcare group.
  • Coordinate with external auditors for the annual audit process.
  • Ensure timely and accurate submission of VAT, corporation tax, and other regulatory filings.

2. Budgeting & Forecasting

  • Lead the annual budgeting process, working closely with department heads.
  • Provide detailed financial forecasts and cash flow projections.
  • Monitor and analyse financial performance against budgets, identifying variances and implementing corrective actions.
  • Provide insightful financial analysis and business performance reporting to senior management and stakeholders.

3. Cash Flow & Treasury Management

  • Manage day-to-day cash flow, ensuring sufficient liquidity to meet operational needs.
  • Optimize working capital, including accounts receivable, payable, and inventory management.
  • Develop cash management strategies to improve financial efficiency and risk mitigation.

4. Financial Controls & Compliance

  • Implement and maintain a strong system of internal controls to ensure financial integrity and reduce risk of fraud.
  • Ensure compliance with statutory and regulatory requirements, including healthcare-specific financial regulations.
  • Establish robust processes for financial data collection, entry, and reporting across the business.

5. Business Partnering & Strategic Support

  • Work closely with operational teams to support business growth and financial decision-making.
  • Provide financial insights and analysis on new business opportunities, acquisitions, or expansions.
  • Assist the senior management team in evaluating the financial viability of new investments and projects.

6. Team Leadership & Development

  • Lead, manage, and develop a small finance team, ensuring high performance and continuous professional development.
  • Promote a culture of accountability, collaboration, and excellence within the finance team.

Requirements:

Qualifications & Experience

  • Fully qualified accountant (ACA, ACCA, CIMA or equivalent).
  • Post-qualification experience, preferably in a healthcare, FMCG, or privately-owned business environment.
  • Strong knowledge of UK accounting standards (UK GAAP), tax, and regulatory compliance.
  • Experience managing financial audits and liaising with external auditors.
  • Proven experience in budgeting, forecasting, and financial planning.
  • Previous experience in healthcare or a regulated industry is highly desirable but not essential.
