A fast-growing service business based in South-East London and with a turnover in excess of £100m, is looking to hire an ambitious ACA/ACCA/CIMA Qualified Financial Controller to join them on a permanent basis. This role offers hybrid working 3 days per week in the office. Reporting to the Chief Financial Officer and working closely with the whole Senior Leadership Team the Financial Controller will:
Duties of the Financial Controller Role:
- Supervise, mentor, and develop the Finance and Payroll Teams including Qualified Accountants.
- Oversee the monthly financial reporting cycle
- Review the management accounts and present them to the Senior Leadership Team
- Oversee transactional accounting including accounts payable and receivable team
- Work closely with the Payroll Team to ensure the accurate processing of payroll for staff and subcontractors
- Prepare the company Audit pack in preparation for the annual Audit
- Prepare and submit the VAT returns
Requirements of the Financial Controller Role:
- ACA/CIMA/ACCA Qualified Accountant with at least 5 years experience working in a similar capacity within the service sector
- Excellent staff management experience
- Strong management and financial accounting experience
- Dealt with complex payrolls
- A clear communicator with previous experience presenting to SLT.
