Equifind have partnered with a market leading private equity organisation, who are wanting to hire an interim financial controller for the next six to nine months.

The core focus of your assignment will be centred around auditing. You will have full ownership of all things audit and be tasked with handling the year end of audit for the business, in addition to revamping the financial controls.

Objective of the Role

Key deliverables for this financial controller position include:

  • Lead audit process and prepare proposed internal audit plans based on the results of the risk analysis as determined by the CFO
  • Perform audit work and supervise the performance of work by any assigned staff or contractors, including reviewing work papers, documenting control weaknesses or inefficiencies and handling the completion of the audit within the given timeframe
  • Exercise individual judgement and initiative in selecting emphasis for coverage within an audit and determining and locating sources of information
  • Prepare audit results and conduct relevant meetings to obtain management responses
  • Work on audit reports and clear those reports with auditees prior to issuance
  • Perform follow-up on previously identified audit findings and management's action plans
  • Ad hoc projects as and when requested by senior management

Requirements

  • Qualified Accountant (ACA / ACCA / CIMA)
  • Minimum of 7 to 10 years’ experience in the audit function
  • Previous experience working within a private equity or investment space is a big plus
  • Have a strong understanding of financial controls and building robust frameworks
  • A confident business partner with exposure of working in a fast-paced high growth environment
  • Strong excel and documentation skills
  • Be highly analytical

The business has a wide range of interests from renewables to technology to healthcare and is diversifying all the time. Performance has been impressive over the years and the returns have been increasing year on year.

You will join a medium sized finance team and lead the process of embedding financial controls for the business and building a robust financial reporting framework for the future.

This is a hybrid opportunity that will be based in London but will require bi-weekly travel to another UK office to have a full understanding of the business operations and work with numerous stakeholders across the business.

What’s On Offer

We are looking at financial controller with relevant backgrounds from private equity or other financial service markets and will pay in the region of £500-£600 per day or via FTC of £100k, if your experience ticks the necessary boxes.

This will be a minimum of six months assignment, and to start within the next four weeks.
