Financial Controller - Central London

Are you a qualified Accountant seeking a Financial Controller role with a growing business based in Central London

Our client a growing Tech business is seeking to recruit a Financial Controller. Responsible for all aspects of financial control & management of growing business within a varied and commercially focused role. Contributing to the strategic direction of the company by guiding the board in making sound business decisions in the short, medium and long term.

Financial Controller responsibilities include:

  • Production of consolidated monthly, quarterly and year end management reports
  • Preparation of data for consolidated statutory accounts
  • Strategic financial planning and analysis (budgeting, re-forecasting and scenario planning)
  • Liaison with reporting accountants/tax advisors (BDO)
  • Liaison with HMRC and other tax authorities
  • Management of P&L and Balance Sheet
  • Cost control & variance analysis
  • Management of revenue recognition for physical goods and SaaS
  • Sales and purchase ledger input
  • Debtor/creditor control
  • U.K. and Slovenian VAT, Intrastat and EC Sales returns
  • Setting up/authorisation of multi-currency payments and treasury management
  • Inventory accounting
  • Data protection compliance
  • Payroll and pension management
  • Bill of Materials review and gross margin analysis
  • Intercompany recharging and transfer pricing
  • Partner with the group executives to prepare funding decks
  • Partner with Head of Delivery to develop and implement operational processes and review order status
  • Partner with Head of BD for tender bid applications and sales forecasting
  • Monitor, review and improve financial processes and controls
  • Review legal agreements
  • Other ad-hoc tasks as required

Skills, Qualifications & Attributes:

  • Experience of working in a commercially focused in-house accounting role
  • Comfortable managing a varied workload and taking responsibility for an entire finance function
  • Strong knowledge of multicurrency and Intrastat accounting as well as EC sales lists
  • Experience of Sage Business Cloud Accounting (or similar) and Excel
  • Understanding of data privacy standards
  • Excellent communication skills, both written and verbal
  • Superior attention to detail
  • Excellent analytical & problem-solving skills
  • Ability to work autonomously when required and as part of a close-knit team of professionals
