Our client, a leading entity in the energy sector, is currently seeking a Junior Financial Controller to join their team on a contract basis. This role is positioned within the dynamic and fast-paced Oil & Gas industry, where you will play a crucial part in financial management and reporting. The successful candidate will report to the Chief Financial Officer and work from the London office, with travel as required.

Key Responsibilities:
  • Manage all aspects of month-end reporting, including preparation of monthly consolidated management accounts for individual entities and the group.
  • Preparation and submission of quarterly shareholder reporting.
  • Annual statutory accounts preparation, including IFRS16, for the group and individual entities (FRS101).
  • Financial management of the Belgian subsidiary.
  • Review quarterly VAT submissions and submit statistical reports to ONS.
  • Write technical accounting papers, liaising with auditors and advisors.
  • Manage company-wide multi-year plan process, annual budget, and quarterly forecasts.
  • Ensure the integrity of financial ledgers, process improvements, policies, and procedures.
Job Requirements:
  • Advanced proficiency in Excel with the ability to handle complex financial models and data analysis.
  • Strong background in finance and accounting principles.
  • Experience with SAP or similar enterprise resource planning software.
  • Understanding of IFRS and statutory reporting requirements.
  • Attention to detail with excellent organisational and analytical skills.
  • Ability to communicate effectively with stakeholders at various levels, including auditors and shareholders.
  • Capability to work independently and manage multiple priorities.
  • Experience in the Energy or Oil & Gas industry is a plus.
