Our client is a long established business based in East London. They are looking for a Financial Controller lead the function. This is a number 1 Finance role, reporting to the board and the aim is for somone to become the FD in 12-18 months time.

- Full time, permanent on site. Mon - Fri 09:00 - 17:30
- Salary £90-95k base with a view to FD salary of £120k+ in 12-18 months
- 25 days paid holiday plus public and bank holidays
- Experience in the financial, manufacturing or commodities industries would be a significant advantage.
Assignment Details
- Take responsibility for ensuring that the financial processes, systems and controls are operating effectively
- Responsibility for maintaining statutory records for the business
- Leading and managing finance team of 4
- Preparation of all consolidated Statutory Accounts
- Budget preparation
- Review of all management accounts packs
- Managing transactional team and overseeing/reviewing sales ledger, purchase ledger, payroll, cash posting and all general ledger entries.
- Handling VAT, PAYE and Tax duties, including corporation tax.
- Liaise with auditors and preparing audit packs
- Project management of process changes and implementations
Skills Required
The position requires an experienced FC who comes from a background in SME’s and enjoys working as part of a fast-paced, high-growth team.
- 7+ years’ professional experience in a senior Finance position, managing a Finance team.
- ACA, ACCA, CIMA or equivalent
- Good understanding of PAYE and VAT
- Exceptional staff management background
- Minimum of two years experience at Financial Controller level
- Excellent communicator
- Project management
- Proven ability of working under pressure;
- Strong IT skills
